DSWD Agusan Sur relocates to a new office for better client access

By Kelvin Kennt R. Generalo

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur --- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Agusan del Sur Field Office has relocated to its office at the Provincial Evacuation Center located at the D.O. Plaza Government Center in Patin-ay, Prosperidad, this province.

This move aims to provide greater convenience for clients, reducing their transportation expenses when securing requirements and seeking assistance from their agency which was previously located at their old office in Barangay Hubang, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.

The new office will serve as a one-stop shop for clients, particularly those with patients at Democrito O. Plaza Memorial Hospital and individuals conducting transactions with the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS).

“It is more comfortable here for the clients, and the space is big and accessible,” said Belen Cacao, a client.

“We initiated this request to PGAS because we wanted to make the process of availing assistance easier and more accessible. With this relocation, clients no longer have to travel far. This will serve as a one-stop shop for those seeking aid from PGAS, as we are now strategically located within the government center,” said Field Officer Michael Andohuyan of DSWD Caraga.

Additionally, to better serve residents from the municipalities of Loreto, La Paz, Talacogon, and San Luis, the agency is working on establishing a DSWD Sub-Satellite Office in Talacogon.

This initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on clients from remote areas who previously had to travel to Patin-ay for assistance.

Meanwhile, the old office in Barangay Hubang will be repurposed as a storage facility for prepositioned family food packs, ensuring a faster response during times of need. (KKG, PIA Agusan del Sur)
