Campaign against vote buying intensifies in Agusan Sur
PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur – The Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) enforces a stricter campaign against vote buying in preparation for the upcoming 2025 elections. This initiative is part of the Philippine National Police (PNP) efforts to ensure clean, orderly, and peaceful elections in the province.
According to Police Colonel (PCol.) Yahya Bustamante Yusup, provincial director of ADSPPO, vote buying is a serious violation of the law that undermines the credibility of elections and democracy.
"Therefore, the Agusan del Sur Police will conduct intelligence gathering, surveillance operations, and coordinate with stakeholders to detect and prevent anyone from engaging in vote buying or participating in such illegal activities," he emphasized.
The ADSPPO also calls on all candidates, their allies, and voters to remain honest and committed to a smooth and fair election, free from vote buying and political bribery.
In addition, the PNP will implement a hotline reporting system, allowing the public to report vote buying activities so these can be investigated and acted upon accordingly.
ADSPPO assures the public that they will remain neutral, fair, and disciplined in enforcing all election laws to safeguard the integrity of the 2025 election results. (PRO13 Agusan del Sur Pulis/PIA Agusan del Sur)
