Agusan Sur leads National Soil Health Program, Rep. Plaza announces to business leaders

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- Congressional Representative Adolph Edward "Eddiebong" Plaza of the 1st District of Agusan del Sur, discussed with business leaders the pivotal role of Agusan del Sur in the National Soil Health Program, during the Provincial Business Conference held recently at the Provincial Learning Center, Prosperidad, this province.

Rep. Plaza recounted his advocacy for soil health management, underscoring Agusan del Sur's leadership in the program, alongside other provinces like Bataan, Ilocos Norte, and Tarlac.

He stressed the significance of the province's new soil laboratory, which is slated to be operational by 2025. This facility will provide vital soil testing services, helping farmers enhance crop yields and reduce costs through more precise fertilizer usage.

Plaza also highlighted the success of the Upland Sustainable Agri-Forestry Development (USAD) Program, which has been active since 2013. He expressed optimism that this sustainability-focused initiative has the potential to attract national government support.

Beyond the soil health program, Plaza shared insights into forthcoming business investments anticipated in the province, which are expected to strengthen the local economy and create new opportunities for growth. (PPIO-Agusan del Sur/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
