DOLE-13 holds key assessment to implementers of skills registration program

BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga recently conducted the Regional and Provincial Assessment for the 2024 National Skills Registration Program (NSRP), at Balanghai Hotel in this city.

The event brought together provincial heads and PESO implementers from various local government units across the Caraga region. Participants engaged in fruitful discussions to collaborate on effective strategies, share best practices, and address challenges related to workforce development in the overall implementation of the NSRP.

During the discussions, several common challenges were identified, including data gathering, technical skills shortages, lack of manpower, coordination gaps among stakeholders, insufficient funding, inadequate information dissemination, and limited logistics support.

On the second day, Employment Unit Head Lilian M. Solis introduced the DOLE Adjustment Measures Program (AMP).

"This initiative aims to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) facing economic disruptions, helping them navigate challenges and sustain their operations," she underscored.

Technical Support Services Division (TSSD) Chief Annie C. Tangpos also expressed her gratitude to participants for their active involvement in various capacity-building activities.

She emphasized that these initiatives are vital for achieving meaningful and lasting progress in their respective areas.

"Looking ahead, DOLE Caraga aims to further enhance skills and capabilities, reinforcing its commitment to workforce development in the region," she said. (DOLE-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
