Local artists join Tourism Week in Agusan Sur town

AGUSAN DEL SUR -- The local government unit (LGU) of San Francisco, through its Municipal Tourism Office (MTO) and in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry - Agusan del Sur (DTI - AdS), officially launched a three-day celebration of Tourism Week from September 18-20, 2024, at the Municipal Ground.

Local leaders including Mayor Grace Carmel Paredes-Bravo, Councilors Filomeno Cadiz and Vanjune Napao, Municipal Tourism Officer Ryan Perater, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President Emmanuel Kloyd Beldad, and DTI-AdS officer-in-charge Provincial Director Marson Jan Dolendo attended the said event.

Following the opening program, Dir. Dolendo led a learning session on the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act (PCIDA) or Republic Act No. 11904. The session highlighted DTI's ongoing programs and initiatives for creative talents, as well as significant accomplishments in 2024.

A total of 25 local artists from the municipality actively participated in the session.

Meanwhile, an art exhibit was also set up at the Negosyo Center San Francisco, showcasing the creative works of artists from the community.

Moreover, as part of the Tourism Week celebration, a training session on 'How to Record a Song' took place on September 20, where some twenty local artists participated.

This training did not only enhance the skills of local musicians but also to produce the recording and video production of ten original local songs including its publishing on various music platforms which completion will run until November 2024.

"We fully support the promotion and development of our culture and arts," said Mayor Bravo.

This partnership is part of DTI's intervention for the promotion and development of the local artists in Agusan del Sur. (DTI-Agusan del Sur/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
