(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Saturday, 19 July 2025) As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “CRISING” was located at 530 km east of Juban, Sorsogon (13.0°N, 128.9°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving west-northwest at 15 km/h. Tropical Depression Crising is currently affecting Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the rest of Mindanao. Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TD Crising. Flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rainfall. Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be moderate from the southwest to west, with moderate seas (wave height: 1.2 to 2.5 meters).

Agusan Sur cops intensified campaign against insurgency

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- With the intensified campaign against criminality and insurgency by the Agusan Del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) headed by Police Colonel Yahya Yusup, provincial director, resulted to the successful implementation of the Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (ACLEO) throughout the province covering the period from March 4-10, 2024, which resulted to a total of 29 operational accomplishments based on the records disclosed by the Provincial Operation and Management Unit (POMU).

The relentless efforts of the local cops against war and insurgency resulted to the following positive accomplishments, to wit:

- three illegal drug personalities nabbed through buy-bust operation;

- eight individuals arrested in illegal gambling;

- two loose firearms (FAs) voluntarily surrendered to the authorities while one loose FA was collared through a search warrant;

- one most wanted person and three other wanted persons fall behind bars while one Service of Warrant of Arrest was successfully implemented; and

- fourteen individuals were cited in illegal fishing.

Yusup said that all arrested persons were cited with Miranda Warning and Anti-Torture Law by the arresting police officers before being placed under police custody while charges against them are being prepared for filing in court.

“These accomplishments are objective indicators of our efficacy in upholding the rule of law within our Area of Responsibility. The diligent dedication of our police officers together with the active support of the community served as an ingredient to maintaining the peace and order of the province. We promise to stomp out the menace in society to serve justice,” Yusup said.
