LGU-Tagbina turns over multi-purpose building in Barangay Carpenito

TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur -- The local government unit of Tagbina achieved a significant milestone in enhancing community infrastructure with the completion of a multi-purpose building in Barangay Carpenito in Tagbina town, as it was formally turned over and inaugurated on January 10.

The LGU-Tagbina under the leadership of Mayor Glaiza Jane Polizon-LaƱete and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Kalahi-CIDSS, otherwise known as the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) - National Community-Driven Development Program (KC-NCDDP) Additional Financing Phase 1 initiative exemplified a  collaborative community development for the realization of the project.

KALAHI-CIDSS is one of the poverty alleviation programs of the government implemented by the DSWD.

According to Glenn Be. Lazaro, LGU Tagbina private secretary, the 49 square meter multi-purpose building, constructed by contract at a total cost of P967,765, covered essential amenities such as comfort rooms, ceilings, tiles, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, and paintings.

The ceremonial ribbon-cutting and inauguration as attended by Mayor Lanete, Sangguniang Bayan members, Municipal Inter-Agency Committee (MIAC) members, barangay council, personnel of KALAHI-CIDSS area and municipal coordinating teams (A/MCT), barangay development council-technical working group (BDC-TWG), and the dedicated community volunteers of Barangay Carpenito, marked a ceremonial recognition of the project's completion.

“Furthermore, the collective efforts of the DSWD, LGU, and BLGU did not only transform the physical landscape but also solidified the community's commitment to shared progress,” Lazaro noted. (Photo credit: LGU-Tagbina/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
