(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Monday, 08 December 2025) At 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "WILMA" was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Matuguinao, Samar (12.2°N 125.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 75 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon. Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast to northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 meters). Elsewhere, moderate winds from the northwest to southwest to southeast with moderate seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters).

Tandag City wins nutrition CROWN award 

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- Anew, the local government unit of Tandag City garnered the highest prestigious recognition in the region dubbed as the "Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition"  or the CROWN award, for its outstanding commitment to nutrition excellence, under the dynamic leadership of the multi-awarded Mayor Roxanne Pimentel.

This remarkable achievement came along as the result of three consecutive years of relentless dedication to the implementation of the city's nutrition action plan, and consistently maintaining a commendable minimum score of 90%.

In addition, the dedication of Tandag City's nutrition team was highlighted with the announcement of key individuals who received regional recognition namely,  City Nutrition Action Officer Reyveen John Geli as the "2022 Regional Outstanding City/Municipal Nutrition Action Officer;" Mary Joy Galolo earned the title of "2022 Regional Outstanding City/Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinator;" while Charliemar Emlarino Solmia emerged as a contender for the prestigious title of "Regional Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar."

The awards were personally received by Mayor  Pimentel and members of the Local Nutrition Committee during the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony held on September 21, 2023, at the Balanghai Hotel in Butuan City.

Assistant Secretary Azucena Dayanghirang of the National Nutrition Council, underscored the significance of Tandag City's accomplishments on a national scale, as she attended the event as guest of honor.

The local chief executive extended her heartfelt gratitude to the National Nutrition Council and the  Caraga Regional Nutrition Committee for their continuous support.

Tandag City's unwavering dedication to improving nutrition standards not only sets a benchmark for the other LGUs in the region, but also serves as an inspiration for others to prioritize the health and well-being of their residents.
