Digital training center to rise in Bislig City

BISLIG, Surigao del Sur -- A contract signing between the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the local government unit of Bislig City, along with the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Digital Transformation Center (DTC) was successfully conducted on June 16, 2023 at Montero Road, Mangagoy, Bislig City in Surigao del Sur.

The DTC, an information communications technology (ICT) training facility, is a project between the LGU Bislig City and DICT, with the congressional district of Surigao del Sur to provide budget for the construction of the facility.

The event sealed the agreement and commitment between the parties to mention, the donation of land at 900 square meters from the LGU, while the DICT will provide the ICT equipment and manpower to run the said digital center.

Beyond any doubt, the project is a step closer to a digitally transformed city where technology plays a vital role in developing and improving all sectors not only in Bislig City, but for all constituents of the 2nd district of Surigao del Sur.

Meanwhile, the event was witnessed by Surigao del Sur 2nd District Congressman Johnny T. Pimentel, DICT executives headed by Caraga Regional Director Mario P. Cuñado, and Bislig City Mayor Florencio C. Garay. The board members and city councilors were also in attendance during the event. (CIO-Bislig City/Jessa Deguito, PIA-Surigao del Sur)
