Racho, in collaboration with the Forest and Wetland Research Development and Extension Center (FWRDEC) conducted the 2023 Forestrylympics in arboretum cum rest and recreation area in Sitio Sanyata, Barangay San Roque, Bislig City on June 20, 2023.

Accordingly, the students and teachers from Caraga State University (CSU) Main Campus, North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) Bislig San Miguel Campuses  joined the said event.

The 2023 Forestrylympics highlighted the different knowledge game such as the identification or name the leaf, wood and seed, and the environmental quiz bee.

The activity allowed the students to hone their knowledge, practice their specialization and maintain professional integrity and ethics in forestry.

As a result, Team Bagtikan emerged as the overall champion in leaf, wood, and seed identification, followed by Team White Lauan and Binuang. For the environmental quiz bee, Team White Lauan was declared as champion, followed by Team Binuang and Banaba.

The mentors always agree that the youth is the hope of our future. Today they might be our partners, while tomorrow they will go on and become leaders who will play vital roles in the protection and conservation of our natural resources for a greener and healthier environment.
