PMO Surigao personnel participates in BLST

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- To better deal with life-threatening emergencies and be able to apply basic procedures necessary to sustain life until more precise medical treatment can begin, key personnel of PMO Surigao participated in a Basic Life Support Training conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on March 22, 2023. Twenty one PMO Surigao personnel made up of operations and finance frontliners, port police operatives and other key personnel underwent the one-day training which included, among others,  the demonstration of performing procedures such as the cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

PMO Surigao port management gave value  to  the said training since a rescuer must know and immediately recognize the signs of cardiac and respiratory arrest and be able to perform CPR and defibrillation by using an AED.

On the other hand, a briefing on Fire Safety and Drill was also conducted during the day as part of the BFP’s observance of the 2023 Fire Prevention Month.

PMO Surigao again received recognition from the BFP for its Manifesto of Support for KAISA – the Bureau’s call-to-action against destructive fire. (PMO-Surigao/PIA-Surigao del Norte)
