SSS, Barangay Villa Kananga ink MOA for its officials and workers; launch Barangay SSS E-Center

BUTUAN CITY – The Social Security System (SSS) and Barangay Villa Kananga, Butuan City signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to secure the social security protection of barangay workers and officials.    

Villa Kananga is the first barangay in Butuan City and Agusan del Norte to participate in the SSS KaltaSSS-Collect Program which in effect provides social security protection in times of sickness, maternity, disability, death, and old age of its 54 workers and officials. 

Under the signed MOA, Barangay Villa Kananga shall be responsible for the remittance of their monthly contributions through automatic salary deduction scheme, thereby ensuring their eligibility to SSS benefits and loan privileges.

On the same occasion, SSS and Barangay Villa Kananga also launched the “SSS E-Center sa Barangay Program.” This program aims to bring the electronic services of the SSS closer to the people particularly to the residents of the barangay and nearby households. Constituents of the barangay can now proceed to the barangay hall where the SSS E-Center is located and make their online transactions conveniently.

Present during the event were SSS Butuan Branch Head Perkins B. Calixtro and the officials of Barangay Villa Kananga under the leadership of the Punong Barangay  Venusto “Jun” R. Clarito, Jr. on March 6, 2023 at the barangay hall of Villa Kananga, Butuan City. (SSS/PIA-Caraga)
