Possible flashfloods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flashfloods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from the Northeast to Northwest with moderate to rough seas (1.8 to 3.4 meters) will prevail in the eastern sections of Mindanao. PPIO, PIA AgSur take part in NSED 2023

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur – The personnel and employees from the Provincial Public Information Office (PPIO) Agusan del Sur, together with the representative from Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Information Center Agusan del Sur, and employees from the Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBME) Unit of Agusan del Sur, actively participated in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. by performing the proper "duck, cover, and hold." 

A short briefing briefing on basic safety tips in preparation of the NSED was facilitated by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) Agusan del Sur, together with the Search And Rescue Agusan del Sur (SARAS), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Agusan del Sur, conducted the briefing on basic safety tips in preparation for the conduct of the NSED.

This said briefing aims to ensure that employees will be able to apply the safety measures during an earthquake.

Right after the NSED, the PDRRMO personnel emphasized that earthquake drills are very important for everyone to practice, and be safe in any eventuality. 

"We must be prepared at all times because we cannot predict when the earthquake will come and always put in our mind that safety first is all that matters," emphasized Mr. Dennis R. Manlicmot of PDRRMO-Agusan del Sur. 

"Fire can happen anytime and anywhere. That’s why we are conducting this Earthquake and Fire Drills to ensure that everyone will be safe at all times, and knowing how to handle fire incidents. Always remember that prevention is better than cure," FO2 Alfie D. Oca of BFP Agusan del Sur bared.
