(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Thursday, 17 July 2025) As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “CRISING” was located at 530 km east of Juban, Sorsogon (13.0°N, 128.9°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving west-northwest at 15 km/h. Tropical Depression Crising is currently affecting Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the rest of Mindanao. Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TD Crising. Flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rainfall. Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be moderate from the southwest to west, with moderate seas (wave height: 1.2 to 2.5 meters).

Bislig City & Madrid receive livelihood grants from DOLE

BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The Department of Labor and Employment- Surigao del Sur Field Office (DOLE-SDS FO) awarded livelihood assistance amounting to P2.9 Million to the Municipality of Madrid and City of Bislig all in Surigao del Sur province.


Two associations of landless farmers in the municipality of Madrid received assistance with a total amount of P1,992,768.00 on May 26, 2022: Songkit Farmers Association at P995,768.00, and Linibunan Irrigators Farmers Association at P997,000.00.

The department also facilitated the release of livelihood assistance to BTRP TODA Three-wheel Drivers in Bislig City for the project BTRP Toda Spare Parts and General Repair Shop. On June 01, 2022, the association received a livelihood grant amounting to P966,272.00 through LGU Bislig as the Accredited Co-partner. 

In his message, Association President Crispen A. Ending expressed his gratitude to DOLE and his commitment to maintain the project along with the members of the association. “Mapasalamaton kami sa DOLE sa hinabang para sa amo mga driver, ug sa suporta sa among Mayor ug sa tanan nag tabang sa amo sa kining project nga mahitigayon kami. Ang amo kalipay kuman dili masukod, (We are grateful to DOLE for the help to us-as drivers, the support of our mayor and everyone who help in the realization of this Project. Our joy is beyond measure),” Mr. Ending said in a local vernacular.

On the same day, Ms. Lucena Garay, a beneficiary of the DOLE Bikecination program received tools and materials amounting to P24,992.50. Ms. Garay’s skills in cooking will now be complemented with materials to pursue her Kakanin Food Business.

DOLE SDSFO Head Genebelle B. Bal thanked the beneficiaries for their trust in the department’s services. “We are grateful to our beneficiaries for placing their trust in DOLE and for being patient as DOLE continues to deliver its services to the workers in the province. Your patience is not wasted as of  today you are witnessing the awarding of livelihood projects. We hope that you will  attain success in your undertakings,” Chief Bal said.

The DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) or Kabuhayan Program is one of the flagship programs of the department, which provides livelihood assistance to the vulnerable and marginalized workers, either as individual or group livelihood projects/undertakings. (DOLE-Caraga/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
