NPA Medic surrendered to Caraga police

BUTUAN CITY -- A medic member of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered to authorities on May 5, 2022, due to the relentless efforts of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 on the campaign against insurgency and terrorism.

PRO13 Director Police Brigadier General Romeo M Caramat Jr., disclosed that alias ‘Jovelyn’, 37 years old, and full-time Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) medic of Weakened Guerilla Front 14, Sub-Regional Committee Southland, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee surrendered to the personnel of 1303rd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13 in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur.

She yielded her issued homemade caliber .357 revolver to the police.

“Alias Jovelyn was one of the victims who reached the point of self-realization that she gained nothing but undeserved struggle and suffering on the mountain while at the hands of a terrorist group. To all the remaining members of the CTG, there is hope for a better tomorrow if you choose to renounce armed struggle and surrender to the government,” RD Caramat said.

Alias ‘Jovelyn’ is now under the custody of 1303rd Maneuver Company for proper documentation and custodial debriefing. (PMaj Dorothy Tumulak, PIO, PNP Caraga/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
