Surigao Norte police nets 5 most wanted persons during SACLEO

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- Authorities arrested five most wanted persons in the province-wide Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) on Thursday, April 21.

Police Colonel Renato C. Mercado, provincial director of Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (SDN PPO), identified the collared wanted persons as Rey Honor Sumando, 33; Merlando Labrador Lozada, 54; Jufil Mina Luspe, 31; Narne Relova Marmito, 49; and Dante Mangubat Sumangit , 47.

The San Benito Municipal Police Station and Provincial Intelligence Unit apprehended the Caraga Region’s top 8 most wanted person Rey Honor Sumando, a resident of Purok 3, Brgy. Bongdo, San Benito, Surigao del Norte by virtue of a warrant of arrest for a violation of Republic Act (RA) 8353 or the Anti-Rape Law of 1997, with no bail recommended.

Lozada, a resident of Purok 1, Brgy. Tagbayani, Sison, Surigao del Norte, is the top most wanted person in the provincial level arrested for the crime of attempted rape. Sison MPS served the warrant issued by RTC 10th Judicial Region, Branch 29, Surigao City with a recommended bail bond of PhP200,000.

Meanwhile, Luspe, who hails from Purok 4, Brgy Mat-i, Surigao City, was arrested by Surigao City PS for the crime of murder. This was by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by RTC Branch 32, Surigao City dated June 8, 2012, with no bail recommendation. Luspe is the top 2 most wanted person in the province.

A warrant was served by Tagana-an MPS against Marmito, a resident of Purok 1, Brgy. Lower Libas, Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte, for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, docketed under Criminal Case No.13167 dated August 16, 2017, and issued by RTC, Branch 32, (Dinagat Islands) Surigao City with recommended bail bond of PhP120,000.

The 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and personnel of Claver MPS arrested Sumangit , a temporary resident of San Isidro, Gigaquit, Surigao del Norte, for the crime of frustrated murder under Criminal Case No. 8870 dated May 20, 2021 and issued by RTC, Branch 32, Calbayog City, Samar with recommended bail bond of PhP200,000. Sumangit is Calbayog City's top 2 most wanted person.

The province's top cop praised the efforts of the troops involved in the arrests, and the support of the locals, for the successful apprehension of the criminals on the loose. 


“I laud our joint operating troops for the successful arrest of the persons sought by law. We will never stop in our chase against lawless elements until we achieve lasting peace.
