LGU-Claver intensifies COVID-19 vax drive, starts vaccination for minors

BUTUAN CITY -- A total of 1,203 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered by the Claver vaccination team on Wednesday, Nov. 3.

This is the highest number of doses given in a day since the mass vaccination program of the government took off in the municipality.

In its recent data, a total of 32,831 doses were administered, with 15,862 individuals already fully vaccinated while 16,969 received their first dose.

The municipality also kicked off its vaccination for minors, aged 12 to 17, as the national government begins its nationwide rollout of COVID-19 vaccination for the said age group.

The vaccination team required proper identification before the minor individuals could be inoculated and they must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Mayor Georgia D. Gokiangkee of the local government unit (LGU) of Claver has initiated the barangay mobile vaccination and put forth an effort on the continuous information drive to intensify the LGU’s campaign and call to Clavernons who are not yet inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine to avail of the free vaccines provided by the government

"It will protect yourselves against the virus especially those belonging to priority groups. Time and again, I am encouraging all of you to get a jab to safeguard not just yourselves but also your loved ones and the people surrounding you," she said. (LGU-Claver/PIA Surigao del Norte)
