A total of 2,029 families in evacuation centers in the city received relief food packs and were provided with immediate assistance following their preemptive and forced evacuation prompted by Tino’s threat.
City officials, led by Mayor Roxanne Pimentel, personally supervised the distribution to ensure that all families received assistance promptly and equitably. The relief operation underscores the city government’s proactive and compassionate approach to safeguarding residents during calamities.
According to CDRRM Officer Reyveen John Geli, the affected families were mainly from coastal and low-lying communities, who were evacuated before the projected landfall of Tino. The efficient flow of information and coordination between response teams, barangay officials, and community volunteers ensured the smooth delivery of aid.
One evacuee, who revealed her name as Delia, expressed gratitude for the assistance, saying, “Dako among pasalamat sa city government sa ilang tabang. Bisag lisod ang kahimtang, nabati namo nga wala mi pasagdi. (We are deeply thankful to the city government for their help. Even in these difficult times, we feel that we are not forgotten).”
Mayor Pimentel also issued Executive Order No. 46-2, series of 2025, entitled ‘An Order Lifting Certain Actions Under Executive Order Nos. 46 and 46-1, Series of 2025, Except for the Continued Activation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).’ The order ensures that while normal activities gradually resume, the city’s Emergency Operations Center remains active to monitor the situation and address ongoing recovery needs.
