DOTr awards notice of compliance for local public transport route plan to Surigao City

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte — The city government of Surigao marked an important milestone in its public transportation development.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr), through the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), has formally awarded the city its Notice of Compliance (NOC) for the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP).

The awarding ceremony, held on August 11 at the DOTr Regional Complex in Butuan City, affirned that Surigao City met all the requirements set by the DOTr, reflecting the city government’s commitment to building an efficient and sustainable public transport system.

The award was received by City Legal Officer Cristina R. Parinas the City Mayor's Office chief of staff; and Atty. Krystel Grace Calderon-Buniel, and Engr. Abito Destajo Jr., both from the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), who served as the focal person for the LPTRP formulation.

The DOTr commended Surigao City’s leadership for developing a transport plan that addresses the needs of the community. This recognition marks a significant step toward improving mobility and accessibility for all residents and commuters in the city. (Surigao City-PIO/PIA-Surigao del Norte)
