Harnessing innovation and technology for local development in Agusan Sur

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur — The provincial government of Agusan del Sur continues to champion innovation and technology as key drivers of inclusive growth and community empowerment.

In the recent episode of the Department Information Officers (DIO) Hour, Annie Rose V. Cane, executive assistant III from the Provincial Governor’s Office and Innotech Center, and Ericah C. Ocon, administrative aide IV, shared how innovation and digital solutions are being harnessed to improve public service delivery and uplift the lives of Agsurnons.

The discussion emphasized the province’s forward-looking commitment to adopting tech-based initiatives across sectors, particularly in agriculture, to address long-standing challenges and improve overall productivity.

“Innovation technology is one of the key components of the provincial government’s agenda, aiming to develop and apply technological solutions to address pressing concerns, particularly in the field of agriculture. These innovations are designed to be tailored to the specific needs of local farmers, with the goal of creating a meaningful and lasting impact on their livelihoods,” explained Cane.

"By adopting innovation and technology, the province aims to boost productivity, enhance service delivery, and ultimately increase the income of local residents, particularly those in the agricultural sector," she added.

As part of the province’s continuing support to its farming communities, Ocon also invited interested groups to coordinate with their office for technical assistance.

“For those who may need assistance with machinery and equipment, we are ready to provide guidance and demonstrations on their proper use. You may send a formal letter of request addressed to Governor Santiago B. Cane Jr.,” said Ocon, encouraging local farmers and other stakeholders to actively engage and collaborate.

Through the Innotech Center and other local government efforts, Agusan del Sur aims to nurture a culture of innovation that addresses local needs, improves efficiency in service delivery, and empowers communities to adapt to emerging challenges.
