In his message, Secretary Angara expressed gratitude and admiration to DepEd Caraga, led by Regional Director Ma. Ines C. Asuncion, for their unwavering commitment to ALS learners across the region.

He emphasized that the construction of the learning center is a significant step toward building a more inclusive and compassionate education system, in line with the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. “The President is sincere in his desire for an education system that is inclusive, comprehensive, and of high quality,” Angara added.

The two-storey facility with a roof deck is located within the one-hectare compound of Buenavista Central Elementary School. Built with a budget of P16.5 million, it aims to support the continuing education and skills development of out-of-school youth and adult learners in the region.

To further support ALS implementation, the United Nations Children’Fund (UNICEF) provided 12 laptops, one unit TV, and one printer for use by ALS teachers and learners.

Agusan del Norte Congressional Representative Dale B. Corvera thanked DepEd and UNICEF for their unwavering support to the province, not only in education but also in various developmental initiatives.

Buenavista Mayor Joselito T. Roble, in his message, expressed full support to DepEd’s ALS initiatives.

“This ALS center is not just a structure,it is a symbol of hope and a brighter future. Through ALS, everyone has a chance to complete their education, and no one is left behind,” said Roble.

The ceremony underscored the government’s commitment to accessible education and the transformative role of ALS in empowering marginalized communities.
