It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon. Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast to northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 meters). Elsewhere, moderate winds from the northwest to southwest to southeast with moderate seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters).

COMELEC deactivates Prov'l Joint Security Control Center in Dinagat Islands

DINAGAT ISLANDS -- The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Dinagat Islands headed by Attorney Hazel Ivory R. Laud-Begyan led the deactivation of the Dinagat Islands Provincial Joint Security Control Center (PJSCC) for the May 12, 2025 national and local elections through an exit conference on June 16, this province. 

Along with the PJSCC members from the Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard and the Department of Education, the activity served as a venue to gather reports and feedback to the member agencies of the PJSCC for this year's midterm elections.

Members and partner stakeholders also presented their actions taken, the challenges they encountered, and the contingency measures they implemented during the said elections.

"For Dinagat Islands, there was 86.97 percent voter turnout," said Laud-Begyan. "The municipality of Dinagat ranked no. 1 in the Municipal Board of Canvassers (MBOC) Proclamation across the whole Caraga region, while the Province of Dinagat Islands topped in the Provincial Board of Canvassers (PBOC) Proclamation for the entire Caraga. The province also ranked no. 1 in the submission of Random Manual Audit (RMA) across all of Mindanao. "

Laud-Begyan expressed gratitude to all who participated in the conduct of the recent elections in the province.
