SAN MIGUEL, Surigao del Sur (PIA) — The North Eastern Mindanao State University – San Miguel campus (NEMSU-SMC) in the province of Surigao del Sur recently received three major infrastructure projects funded by the national government during a ceremonial turnover spearheaded by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Re-elected first district Congressional Representative Romeo S. Momo Sr. said, “The completed projects, a road network, a multi-purpose building, and a potable water system, are set to provide a more accessible, conducive, and student-friendly environment for NEMSUans.”

He assured continued support to the development of the state university, vowing to bring more projects to the campus that foster quality education.

NEMSU President Nemesio G. Loayon expressed gratitude to the government for the infrastructure projects.

“We are happy because these facilities we have provided will allow students to experience comfort that they may not have at home, something they can now find here in the school,” said Dr. Loayon.

NEMSU-San Miguel campus chief, Dr. Florife O. Urbiztondo, also underscored the positive impact that the new facilities will give in support of academic pursuits and campus life. “These projects are not just physical structures, they are investments in the future of our students,” said Dr. Urbiztondo,

Meanwhile, DPWH Engineer Josie Alegado highlighted that the completed projects are not just infrastructure, they are symbols of progress, readiness, and hope for a brighter future for every student who walks through NEMSU’s gates. (NGPB, PIA Surigao del Sur)
