PHO Agusan Sur holds training on mass casualty management for emergency, medical responders

AGUSAN DEL SUR -- The Provincial Health Office (PHO) Agusan del Sur, in partnership with the Department of Health – Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Caraga, conducted a five-day intensive training on Mass Casualty Management on May 26-30 at Mabe's Savory Place, San Francisco, this province.

Participants of the training consist of various emergency and medical responders from the PHO, Municipal Health Office (MHO), provincial government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS) hospitals, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). 

The training aimed to enhance preparedness and response capabilities of first responders in handling mass casualty incidents (MCIs).

One of the highlights of the activity was a full-scale simulation field exercise held at Datu Lipus Makapandong Sports Complex in Patin-ay, Prosperidad where participants applied their knowledge and skills in an emergency scenario.

Participants demonstrated their agility, competence, teamwork, and collaboration skills in responding to the emergencies during the field exercise. They learned crucial techniques in triage, treatment, and transport of incident casualties to hospitals for appropriate medical care.

DOH-CHD Caraga emphasized the importance of this training in equipping responders with the necessary information and competence to handle emergencies effectively and efficiently.
