TESDA accredits Tubajon NHS, boosting tech-voc programs in Dinagat Islands

DINAGAT ISLANDS - The Schools Division of Dinagat Islands received its Certificate of Accreditation as a Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) provider from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), marking a significant milestone in the division’s commitment to skills development and workforce readiness.

With TESDA-Dinagat Islands Director Allan S. Millan awarding the Certificate, Tubajon National High School was designated as the accredited assessment center for Food and Beverage Services NC II and Bread and Pastry Production NC II.

Schools Division Superintendent Florence E. Almaden received the certificates of accreditation, joined by Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Bryan L. Arreo; Chief Education Supervisors Rene G. Ebol and Dr. Lope C. Papeleras; Education Program Supervisor Edeliza F. Seguis; Administrative Officer V Marvin P. Ebueza; Tubajon District Public Schools District Supervisor Rex Paquiding; and Tubajon National High School Principal Reynaldo Sendiong.

This accreditation enables the school to deliver quality technical-vocational education and conduct competency-based assessments aligned with national industry standards.

This development strengthens the division’s efforts to provide learners with practical skills and nationally recognized certifications, paving the way for broader career opportunities after graduation. It also affirms the readiness of DepEd Dinagat Islands to support the K to 12 Program’s Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track.

The recognition reinforces the division’s ongoing initiatives to expand access to relevant, quality, and responsive education for all learners, especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

The awarding ceremony was held on June 2 at Parkway Hotel, Surigao City, in conjunction with the 2nd Regular Division Management Committee Conference for Calendar Year 2025. (Richard E. Davide, DepEd Dinagat Islands/PIA Dinagat Islands)
