26 Octogenarian, nonagenarian, received P10K cash gift
BUENAVISTA, Agusan del Norte -- The National Commission on Senior Citizens (NCSC) conducted a payout to 26 octogenarians and nonagenarians at the covered court of Barangay 6 on April 15.
Senior Citizens Federation President Eusebio B. Calunsag welcomed the 26 beneficiaries of the said event. He disclosed that another batch of cash assistance from the local government of Buenavista will be distributed in October 2025, for senior citizens aged 85 years old and above.
Mayor Joselito T. Roble, ably represented by SB member Eduardo P. Makiling expressed his gratitude to the 26 beneficiaries.
"Unta malipay mo sa gamayng hinatag sa NCSC ug unta mag lig-on pamo aron maka abot mo ug 100 years old," he said.
NCSC representative Generi B. Pinto expounded on the role of the NCSC office, he said, "Dili mi taga DSWD, gitukod ni nga office para matutukan jud ang mga seniors or elderly."
He further explained that under RA No. 11982, the office provides P10,000 to individuals who reach the ages of 80, 85, 90, and 95 years old. He wished the beneficiaries a long life and expressed hope to see them again for another milestone.
Erlinda Beronio, 85 years old beneficiary, expressed gratitude to the Lord for giving her a long life and to the office of NCSC for the cash grant.
Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) Head Gloria Pabillore closed the program saying, "Unta maka tabang sa inyoha ang gihatag sa gobyerno ug hinaot dili mahimong gubot sa inyong pamilya ang kwarta." (MLGU Buenavista, Agusan del Norte/PIA Agusan del Norte)
