DTI Surigao Norte supports DENR Caraga's bio-diversity friendly enterprises

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Surigao del Norte joined the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga for the implementation of the Bio-diversity Friendly Enterprises (BDFEs) in Eastern Mindanao Bio-diversity Corridor (EMBC) Project. 

Personnel from DTI Surigao del Norte, together with three other DTI provincial offices, PENRO and CENRO, attended the DENR Caraga’s orientation on DENR Administrative Order (DAO) 2021-13 and DTI Firm-Level Diagnostic Tool in support to the implementation of BDFEs-EMBC Project, held at San Agustin, Surigao del Sur.

DTI Provincial Director Arnold Faelnar said, “The activity ensured the effective implementation of the project in the Caraga region through the collaborative efforts of both the DENR and DTI.” 

He added,  “Using the DTI’s diagnostic tool, the appraisal stage will be conducted with the agreed schedules that were decided during the activity.”

Dir. Faelnar further said that for the province of Surigao del Norte, the DENR and DTI will be conducting the appraisal stage for the seven eligible people’s organizations (POs) in the month of May 2025. 

The DENR’s BDFEs-EMBC Project supports the effective conservation of globally significant biodiversity, reduces deforestation and degradation of landscapes, and enhances livelihood in the area. (DTI-SDN/PIA Surigao del Norte)
