PSA to conduct labor force survey in Agusan Norte

BUTUAN CITY -- The Philippine Statistics Authority – Agusan del Norte (PSA–ADN) will conduct the April 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) from April 8 to 30, 2025, which will include tourism employment questions as an additional component. The primary goal of this nationwide survey is to gather detailed data on the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the population. The results will help provide important insights into labor market trends such as labor force participation, unemployment, underemployment, hours worked, and the industries and occupations of individuals who are currently unemployed.

The inclusion of tourism employment questions will offer a clearer and more accurate overview of how the tourism sector contributes to national employment, as reflected in the Philippine Tourism Satellite Accounts (PTSA).

As part of the survey, PSA – Agusan del Norte will hire twelve (12) qualified Statistical Researchers (SRs), who will undergo training from April 2 to 5, 2025. This training will ensure that the SRs are well-equipped to collect accurate data from the sample households. They will be tasked with enumerating 391 sample households in Butuan City and 398 sample households in the rest of Agusan del Norte.

PSA – Agusan del Norte urges all sample households to actively participate and provide accurate information, as the data collected will contribute to the formulation of policies aimed at enhancing employment opportunities and fostering economic development.

Respondents can be assured that all information collected will remain confidential and will not be used for taxation, investigation, or regulation, in accordance with the Republic Act 10625.
