BUTUAN CITY -- Some 44 Grade 12 ICT students from Cagdianao National High School recently completed the 80-hour work immersion program with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Caraga through its Dinagat Islands Provincial Office held from January 13 to 24.

This immersive program proved pivotal in their educational journey, providing them with invaluable skills for the digital age. The students developed a strong foundation in digital literacy, explored the complexities of cybersecurity, and learned about the importance of e-Government in modernizing public services. They also gained practical experience through hands-on activities, including free Wi-Fi installation and the use of office productivity tools.

The session on Cybersecurity Awareness was a significant component of the program.

Students, grouped by strands such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Accountancy, Business and Management (ABMP), and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), actively participated and demonstrated a strong understanding of the cybersecurity principles. Their excellent performance underscored their interest in digital safety and their potential as future leaders in the ICT industry.

The program further included sessions on creating professional LinkedIn profiles and using Canva for design, enhancing the students' digital presence and creative skills. These activities broadened their understanding of modern tools and technologies, preparing them for success in the evolving tech landscape.

This immersive experience provided the students with both theoretical and practical knowledge, building their confidence and capabilities to contribute meaningfully to the technology sector.
