San Francisco police arrest man during spot COMELEC checkpoint
AGUSAN DEL SUR -- A man was arrested by San Francisco Municipal Police Station (MPS) during a spot Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Checkpoint for Violation of Section 28 of R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Section 261 (q) of BP 881 (Omnibus Election Code) in relation to Comelec Resolution No. 11067 at Barangay Bayugan 2, San Francisco, this province.
Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel of San Francisco MPS led by Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS) Rene Cuevas, Municipal Executive Senior Police Officer (MESPO) under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel (PLTCOL) Milan V. Naz, officer-in-charge (OIC) conducted a spot COMELEC checkpoint along the National road of Barangay Bayugan 2, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, wherein suspect caught in plain view in possession of illegal firearms. Confiscated from the suspect’s possession and control were one .45 Arms Corporation of the Philippines (ARMSCOR) pistol bearing Serial Number 139264, one magazine containing eight live rounds of ammunition, and two spare magazines with five additional live rounds each and black holster.
Suspect was temporarily detained at San Francisco MPS custodial facility.

"The confiscation of this loose firearm underscores our unwavering stance against the unlawful possession of firearms during the election season.
