Pag-IBIG Fund ensures bigger returns for members as assets reach P1T

By Kelvin Kennt R. Generalo

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur — Pag-IBIG Fund Butuan Branch Head Maria Olive Uy Seron assured members of higher returns as the fund's total assets reached the P1-trillion mark, during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas episode aired on November 12 at the LMX Convention Center, Butuan City.

The programs and services of Pag-IBIG Fund, established in 1978 under Presidential Decree No. 1530, are anchored on its twin and inseparable mandates: to provide a secure provident savings system for members and to promote homeownership by offering shelter financing to borrowers.

“It has always been our guiding map in building the Pag-IBIG Fund,” she said.

From January to September 2024, the fund recorded 16.37 million active members, with total member savings reaching P98.72 billion. Housing loan releases amounted to P88.17 billion, benefitting 61,597 member-borrowers who acquired new or improved homes. Additionally, 2,526,036 members availed of cash loans totaling P55.65 billion. These accomplishments contributed to Pag-IBIG Fund's net income of P39.54 billion in the third quarter of 2024, propelling its total assets to P1.02 trillion.

“This is good news for all our members because, as owners of the fund, they have contributed to building a trillion-peso corporation. A strong financial performance from Pag-IBIG Fund also means bigger returns for our members in the form of dividends,” Seron said.

Pag-IBIG Fund Public Relations and Information Services Group Vice President Karin-Lei F. Garcia ensures all its members the collective achievements of Lingkod Pag-IBIG under the leadership of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. and hope for their continued support and trusts to the Pag-IBIG Fund.

“Your Pag-IBIG remains committed to delivering the best for its members—maintaining the warmth and integrity of our service while upholding transparency in our financial operations. Isang Pag-IBIG na ramdam ng lahat, and that is our promise,” she said.

“And now, we will not just say it, but we will show it. No matter the region or location, Pag-IBIG Fund will continue to provide honest and heartfelt service to every Filipino,” she added. (KKG, PIA-Agusan del Sur)
