Bayugan City’s council on culture, arts debriefs stakeholders, conducts planning session

BAYUGAN CITY, Agusan del Sur – The Local Culture and Arts Council (LCAC) of Bayugan City, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Agusan del Sur, conducted a Creative Stakeholders’ Debrief and Strategic Planning Session on December 13 at the Mayor's conference room in Bayugan City, this province.

The session served as a follow-up to the recently concluded Lunsod Lunsad Bahandi Bayugan, where local creatives showcased their artistry and craftsmanship through a series of vibrant and diverse events.

During the debrief, stakeholders reviewed the outputs and outcomes of Lunsod Lunsad Bahandi Bayugan, including challenges encountered and recommendations for future improvements. Insights from a checkpoint assessment disseminated to local creatives were also discussed to better identify their needs.

The session also highlighted key features of the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act (PCIDA), emphasizing the expanded responsibilities of LCAC in supporting local creatives and the member composition of the Philippine Creative Industries Council.

"We are glad to have this platform for our local talents, and together with Mayor Kirk Asis, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting this industry," said City Councilor Dionril Salvan.

As part of its strategic planning, the council identified champions or focal persons for each of the nine creative domains:

Audio-Visual Media

Digital Interactive Media

Performing Arts

Design

Publishing and Printed Media

Visual Arts

Creative Services

Traditional Cultural Expressions

Cultural Sites

These champions will represent their respective domains as part of the Council, strengthening the collective efforts to advance the local creative industry. (DTI Agusan del Sur/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
