Tagbina highlights achievements of the Special Programs Division
TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur (PIA) -- The Special Programs Division (SPD) of Tagbina proudly looked back on a month filled with significant achievements in community-centered initiatives, showcasing progress in key programs like the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan - Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS), Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), and the Community Training and Employment Center (CTEC). These milestones, accomplished by the dedicated team of the SPD led by Chief Glenn B. Lazaro, private secretary II, were made possible through the strong leadership and guidance of Local Chief Executive Glaiza Jane Polizon-Lanete.
Support to municipal events and celebrations
In October, the SPD demonstrated its community involvement by providing essential support as the technical working committee for key events such as the Municipal World Teachers’ Day Celebration, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and Elderly Filipino Day, all held at NEMSU gymnasium in Tagbina. The division also facilitated the Local Health Board Meeting and attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the upcoming Tagbina Community Hospital, a major development for local healthcare.
KALAHI-CIDSS program progress
The SPD’s ongoing commitment to the KALAHI-CIDSS program was highlighted through multiple key activities, including site validations for Phase 3 of the Padayon Project and a contract signing for the construction of a tribal hall in Barangay Maglatab. SPD also received regional recognition by earning the Tatak KALAHI-CIDSS Sub-Project Award in Caraga with a stellar 95 percent rating.
AICS initiatives
The Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program conducted AKAP validations at the barangay gymnasium in Maglambing, Tagbina, ensuring timely support for residents in urgent need.
4Ps implementation
In October, the 4Ps initiative facilitated the Essential Services Social Intervention (ESSI) payout to 73 beneficiaries, disbursing a total of P297,110. The program also conducted facility visits, case conferences, and training on social work counseling, contributing to an enhanced network of support for 4Ps beneficiaries in Tagbina.
TUPAD program
The Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program facilitated a payout worth P3 million to 1,000 beneficiaries in Barangay Maglambing, supporting individuals affected by socioeconomic challenges.
Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) initiatives
October was a notable month for the
SLP as it delivered crucial livelihood assistance to multiple associations in
Tagbina. Highlights included a P1.5 million turnover to local associations and
the distribution of “baobao” units worth P600,000 to strengthen economic
activity. Additionally, the program hosted training sessions on corn coffee and
salted egg production, aimed at building participants' skills in food
processing as part of the zero hunger initiative.

Tagbina’s Special Programs Division anticipated its continuous success as it drove forward with impactful projects through the dedication and leadership of its resilient team.
