It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon. Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast to northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 meters). Elsewhere, moderate winds from the northwest to southwest to southeast with moderate seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters).

Statistics office in Surigao Sur holds prov’l statistics quiz

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur (PIA) -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Surigao del Sur hosted the provincial elimination round of the 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) on October 31.

The event, held under the leadership of Chief Statistical Specialist Ruel L. Dres, brought together promising young statisticians from across the province, with the goal of identifying top talents to advance to the regional stage.

After a rigorous competition, two outstanding students emerged victorious namely, Jennifer Vasquez from North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) Cagwait campus who was crowned as the Provincial Champion, while Halim A. H. Ali from Saint Theresa College of Tandag, Inc., secured the 1st place. Both students will represent Surigao del Sur at the regional PSQ elimination set on November 8, 2024, in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

The provincial quiz, organized by the PSA Surigao del Sur, is a crucial preparatory stage for the regional and national rounds. Vasquez and Ali are now set to showcase their skills and academic excellence, bringing pride to Surigao del Sur as they will compete for a place in the next level of the PSQ.
