(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Saturday, 19 July 2025) As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “CRISING” was located at 530 km east of Juban, Sorsogon (13.0°N, 128.9°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving west-northwest at 15 km/h. Tropical Depression Crising is currently affecting Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the rest of Mindanao. Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TD Crising. Flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rainfall. Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be moderate from the southwest to west, with moderate seas (wave height: 1.2 to 2.5 meters).

RTWPB-13 validates companies for Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan

CARAGA – In partnership with the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), RTWPB Caraga and other government agencies recently joined the Regional Validation Team for the 13th Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan (GKK) for industry and individual applicants.

Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan GKK is an award given by the Department of Labor & Employment (DOLE) in recognition of the outstanding achievement of establishments/firms and individuals in terms of responding to the safety and health needs of workers, workplaces, and community. 

The “best of the best” and exemplary establishments and individuals  are recognized as “Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan Champions” for their commendable achievements with the following objectives:

1.    Recognize outstanding institutions/companies and individuals who have implemented successful safety and health policies and programs;

2.    Promote OSH Innovations, improvements and initiatives in micro enterprises and the informal sectors, and

3.    Encourage institutions/companies to implement their safety, health and environment programs effectively and their processes, to achieve improved quality, productivity and zero accident/illness occurrence in the workplace.

4.    Companies with a rate of 80 percent above are considered Regional Champions and will have the chance to be national champions through a national level selection process by a board of judges from the employers and workers organization, government sector and professional/OSH organizations.

For Caraga region, the following companies are subject for validation from Regional Validation Team headed by Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC), Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), RTWPB and other agencies:

4. CTP Construction and Mining Corporation

5.Carrascal Nickel Corporation

6. Pacific Nickel Corporation

RTWPB Caraga Board Secretary Earl D. Dela Victoria and other validators focused its validation on productivity aspects such as productivity improvement programs, innovations, incentive schemes, and rewards systems in line with the implementation of the OSH program. In addition,   Dela Victoria  considered GKK as an opportunity for RTWPB Caraga to offer the productivity programs and gather commitments from the firms to avail of the productivity trainings and other services of the agency.
