PDEA declares Alegria as drug-free workplace

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) through Provincial Dir. Wenefredo Alagabia Jr. awarded the local government of Alegria, Surigao del Norte headed by Mayor Rene G. Esma as a drug-free workplace on September 2.

Under the Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No.13, series of 2018, all government agencies are mandated to create a program on drug free workplace that includes the conduct of mandatory drug testing of their employees to ensure that all public officers remain drug-free so that the public receives effective and efficient service from the government.

Alegria was found compliant with the drugs board resolution and the standards established by the law of the Drug-Free Workplace Program. This showed the efforts of the government office in institutionalizing its fight against use of illegal drugs in the workplace. (SDR/PIA-Surigao del Norte)
