DSWD-13 recognizes performing local social workers

BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga welcomed partners from the Local Social Welfare Development Offices (LSWDOs) and the Social Welfare and Development- Learning Network (SWD-LNet) during the conduct of the 2024 Mid-Year Social Welfare and Development Forum - Cum Knowledge Fair v. 10, held on July 31 at the Pavilion at Watergate, this city.

With the theme, “Reinforce Resilient Partnership Through Strengthened Knowledge Exchange," the field office took on the opportunity to share and discuss the social welfare and protection flagship programs of the administration under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The whole-day activity was utilized to provide DSWD's partners with the necessary information of the priority programs of DSWD under Secretary Rex Gatchalian. Details on the programs and initiatives of DSWD, such as the comprehensive programs for Families of Children in Street Situations, Oplan Pag-Abot Program, ProtecTeen, Makabata, and the DSWD Academy were imparted to the participants.

The field office also apprised its partners with the status and accomplishments for the First Semester, especially on the new programs of the agency, such as the Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) at BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished), the Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program, and the Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP).

DSWD also took the opportunity to address issues and concerns raised by the partner-stakeholders.

DSWD Field Office Director Mari-Flor Dollaga took the moment to clarify any problems or predicaments that hamper the tuneful engagements of the agency and its partners.

She also acknowledged the cooperation and support of the field office's partners for attaining its targets for the 1st semester of 2024, and encouraged them to take the opportunity to work with the agency, especially in supporting the new programs and initiatives of the department  since the ones who will be benefiting are the constituents in their localities.
