Las Nievesnons to benefit coconut seed farm
BUTUAN CITY – Gov. Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante led the community consultation for the establishment of the Agusan del Norte coconut seed farm located at a 60-hectare portion of the Agusan del Norte Integrated Agro-Forestry and Dairy Stock Farm in Brgy. Maningalao, Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte.
The project will get funding from the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Caraga headed by Regional Manager Joel Oclarit under the program on coconut hybridization.
The residents of Brgy. Maningalao expressed their support for the project.
Gov. Amante requested the people to back the project as she emphasized that her sole desire is for the coconut seed farm to meliorate the lives of the Agusanons. She further conveyed the importance of the people to the government saying, "Importante sa ako ang malahutayong pagpangita ug panginabuhian."
The project aims to ease the burden of coconut farmers in the province in securing coconut seedling in Zamboanga, North Cotabato and Davao. (Engr. KaRyll Rosario & RF Amante, PLGU-Agusan del Norte/PIA-Agusan del Norte)
