FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

LGU-Tubajon capacitates barangay peacekeeping members on law enforcement, paralegal

TUBAJON, Dinagat Islands -- The municipal government of Tubajon led by Mayor Fely Pedrablanca conducted a three-day training and seminar on law enforcement and paralegal for the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATS).

The upskilling of the participants was held at the Tan-Chan gymnasium in Barangay Mabini on July 29-31 that strengthened the capacities of the members of the BPATS in ensuring that they fulfill their functions effectively and in line with rights-based approaches.

The activity was organized by the members of the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC), in partnership with the Liga ng mga Barangay (LNMB) headed by ex-officio Sangguniang Bayan member and Mabini Punong Barangay Jepong Bag-ao, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) headed by MLGOO Desiree Bakit, and Tubajon Municipal Police Station (MPS) headed by PMaj. Joeburt Agpaoa and the Balay Alternative Legal Advocates for Development (BALAOD) Mindanaw, a constant partner of the municipality in several people-centered development initiatives.
