Northern Mindanao and the rest of Caraga will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to TS “Ada”. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. The eastern section of Mindanao will have moderate to strong winds from west to southwest with moderate to rough seas (2.1 to 3.4 meters). The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate winds from northeast to northwest with slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 2.5 meters). At 3:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Storm "ADA" {NOKAEN} was estimated based on all available data at 270 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar (12.1°N, 127.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 80 km/h. It is moving Northwestward at 20 km/h. Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon.

Bislig City holds communication campaign on lifeline rate

BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur (PIA) -- The city government of Bislig, headed by Mayor Florencio C. Garay in partnership with the Department of Energy (DOE), and Surigao del Sur I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SURSECO-I) led by General Manager Joceler M. Moralda, spearheaded the conduct of the information, education, and communication (IEC) campaign on lifeline rate and registration drive on April 2 held at the Bislig City Cultural and Sports Center, Brgy. Poblacion, Bislig City.

The campaign disseminated information to qualified Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries of their privilege and for them to avail of the discounted lifeline rate.

Highlighting the activity were the discussions with Engr. Kevin Andre B. Umipig, DOE science research specialist II, Senior Energy Regulation Officer Reggie O. Obregon, and Manager Technical Services Department Engr. Kevin Raden T. Acma, on the qualified marginalized end-users (QME) and its implementing rules and regulations stipulated under R.A. 11552, SURSEC0-I lifeline threshold and energy conservation tips. As a medium of interaction between the audience, an open forum also transpired for clarifications.

Present during the campaign were the staff from the Local Social Welfare and Development Office (LSWDO) and City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), distribution utilities (DUs), Energy Regulation Commission (ERC), and LGU employees.
