(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Saturday, 19 July 2025) As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “CRISING” was located at 530 km east of Juban, Sorsogon (13.0°N, 128.9°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving west-northwest at 15 km/h. Tropical Depression Crising is currently affecting Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the rest of Mindanao. Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TD Crising. Flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rainfall. Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be moderate from the southwest to west, with moderate seas (wave height: 1.2 to 2.5 meters).

Agusan Sur cops’ weeklong operations generate 54 operational accomplishments

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- A total of 54 operational accomplishments were attained by the strong hands of the Agusan del Sur cops during the implementation of 9th weeklong anti-criminality law enforcement operation (ACLEO) throughout the province covering the period from February 19-25, 2024.

The relentless efforts of Agusan del Sur cops against war on criminality and insurgency yielded to the arrest of four drug personalities through the buy-bust operations; three individuals in illegal gambling; five most wanted persons, seven other wanted persons and 16 successful implementations of service of warrant of arrest.

Further, five loose firearms were voluntarily surrendered to the authorities while 12 individuals were cited/fined with illegal fishing.

Police Colonel Jovito Canlapan said that all arrested persons have been placed under police custody while charges against them are being prepared for filing in court.

“These notable operational accomplishments will serve as a stern warning to the fugitives of justice that your provincial cops will not rest in putting them behind bars to attain justice and to uphold the rule of law. Rest assured that your agents of peace and order in the province will do our very best to maintain the peace and order in the community to finally get rid of the menaces in our society,” Canlapan underscored.
