Agusan Sur cops apprehend high-value drug pusher

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- In a coordinated effort between the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of Bunawan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Agusan del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Caraga, a significant breakthrough was achieved in the fight against illegal drugs with the arrest of a high-value individual (HVI) pusher.

The operation, conducted on February 13, 2024, at about 1:45 PM in Purok-2, Barangay Consuelo, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, led to the apprehension of alias 'Jose' for the violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

'Jose,' a miner by profession, was identified as an HVI pusher under COPLAN JOSS, a regional priority target.

During the buy-bust operation, law enforcement recovered significant evidence, including:

a. One heat-sealed of transparent plastic sachet believed to contain shabu;

b. Four additional heat-sealed of transparent plastic sachets, with an estimated total weight of 1.0 gram and a market value of P6,800;

c. One P1,000 (one thousand peso) bill, marked as buy-bust money;

d. Four pieces of aluminum foil; and

e. One lighter, seized as evidence.

The arrested suspect and confiscated evidence were brought to Bunawan MPS for proper disposition.

Police Colonel Jovito Canlapan urges the public to contact the Bunawan MPS Hotline any related report at 0998-986-7058.

"We emphasize the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law," he said.

“Kudos to everyone involved in the successful apprehension of the drug personality. Your dedication, bravery, and hard work are deeply appreciated," added Canlapan.

This is in line with the process excellence perspective of the Philippine National Police (PNP) P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030 under the objective of improving the crime prevention and solution efficiency of the PPO. (ADSPPO/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
