Agusan Sur cops achieve another success in anti-drug operation


PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- The personnel from Esperanza Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) - Agusan del Sur conducted a buy-bust operation on February 17, 2024 (Saturday) at about 3:15 AM at P-1, Barangay Crossing Luna, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur, which resulted in the apprehension of a suspect and the seizure of illicit substances.

The said operation had led to the confiscation of the following items:

a. Four pieces of transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with a total value of P8,160;

b. One piece  of orange lighter; 

c. One piece five hundred-peso (P500) bill as buy-bust money with serial no.MH349159; and 

d. Two pieces of aluminum foil. 

Police Colonel Jovito Canlapan, provincial director of Agusan Del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) said that the arrested suspects and confiscated items are now under the custody of Esperanza MPS for proper disposition. 

The law enforcement agency is committed to ensuring that all necessary procedures and legal steps are followed to maintain the integrity of the case.

"I am sending a clear message that drug-related activities will not be tolerated in our province, and we will continue to stand firm in our pursuit of justice," Canlapan said.
