Agusan Sur pays tribute to late Democrito O. Plaza
PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- As tribute to the late Democrito O. Plaza, former governor and congressional representative in the province of Agusan del Sur, a wreath-laying ceremony unfolded at the Naliyagan Ground, Patin-ay, Prosperidad, this province.
The event, which commenced at 7:00 a.m. on December 28, 2023, was attended by the personnel of the Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) under the leadership of Police Colonel Jovito C. Canlapan, along with provincial unit chiefs, chief of police/officer-in-charge (COPs/OICs), and uniformed personnel of the Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) headquarters.
Local officials who joined in the ceremony include Santiago B. Cane Jr., governor; Samuel E. Tortor, vice governor; and Maria Valentina G. Plaza, former governor and congressional representative of the province.
A blessing and prayer offering was also conducted by Rev. Fr. Romeo G. Garcia of Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish.
"On behalf of the ADSPPO, we extend our sincere condolences to the late Democrito O. Plaza, and we continue to commemorate his good deeds that greatly contributed to the development of the province. His legacy of leadership and commitment to public service continues to inspire the police force in Agusan del Sur," Canlapan stated.
