DSWD, LGU-Tagbina inaugurate P1.2M isolation facility

TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur -- Tagbina Mayor Glaiza Jane P. Lañete, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) - National Community-Driven Development Program (KC-NCDDP)  - Additional Financing, inaugurated the completed isolation facility in Barangay Villaverde on January 9, 2024.

The project worth P1.2 million has a physical completion of 69.00 square meters that involved the expansion of an existing building, featuring 12 columns, five partitioned rooms, and the removal of ceilings and roofing, including the addition of a roof deck.

With the upgrading, the said facility covered six units of folding beds, along with essential medical tools and equipment.

The ceremonial ribbon-cutting was witnessed by Mayor Lañete, PNP chief Captain John Zydrick Preciados, Sangguniang Bayan members, SK Federation president, and indigenous people mandatory representative (IPMR).

In her message, the local chief executive emphasized that the local community in Barangay Villaverde requested and appealed for this project. The leaders in the locality listened and immediately responded and were willing to assist the needs of their people, including projects and programs for the betterment of the community.

Guided by the principle of #GalayCares, the said initiative represented a significant milestone in the unwavering pursuit of public service and the championing of community-driven development.

Meanwhile, the KC-NCDDP is one of the poverty alleviation programs of the government implemented by the DSWD. It uses the community-driven development approach, a globally recognized strategy for achieving service delivery, poverty reduction, and good governance outcomes.
