FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

LGU - Tandag provides assistance to fisherfolk, boat owners affected by No Sail Policy

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The city government of Tandag facilitated the provision of essential support to 362 registered local fisherfolk  and boat owners affected by the shear line weather disturbance.

The distribution of assistance on January 24 served as a response of the city government under the leadership of Mayor Roxanne C. Pimentel to support its local fisherfolk and boat owners registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) who were affected by the recent 'No Sail Policy' due to shear line weather disturbance.

The recipients from barangays of Bongtud, Salvacion, Rosario, Dagocdoc, San Antonio, Telaje, Pangi, Bag-ong Lungsod, Buenavista, San Agustin Sur, San Agustin Norte, and Mabua, were given relief packs containing rice, and canned goods. Each recipient also received cash assistance worth P500 from Mayor Pimentel.

With the No Sail Policy, the city government ensured that the basic needs of the immediate families of the local fisherfolk and boat owners were addressed in this challenging times. (with a report from LGU-Tandag City/NGPB/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
