(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Saturday, 19 July 2025) As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “CRISING” was located at 530 km east of Juban, Sorsogon (13.0°N, 128.9°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving west-northwest at 15 km/h. Tropical Depression Crising is currently affecting Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the rest of Mindanao. Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TD Crising. Flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rainfall. Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be moderate from the southwest to west, with moderate seas (wave height: 1.2 to 2.5 meters).

Tandag City gives tribute to education employees, stakeholders

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The city government of Tandag led by Mayor Roxanne Pimentel recognized the invaluable contributions of educators and stakeholders, during the City Schools Division of Tandag's "Pag-ani: A Stakeholders' Convergence" on January 24.

During the recognition, some 25 teachers and non-teaching personnel received the Gintong Narra Award with commendable tokens of appreciation.

Each awardee received gift packs and a significant cash gift amounting to P3,000 from the city government.

In a separate acknowledgment, 18 retirees, whose years of service left an indelible mark, were also honored with gift packs and a cash gift of P1,000 each.

In addition, some six schools that demonstrated outstanding achievements were recognized during the event. Each school was awarded with the Gintong Narra Award. They also received solar fans and a cash gift of P5,000.

Moreover, the event celebrated the vital role of parents and stakeholders in the educational process. Some 31 Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) presidents and 15 Schools Governance Council (SGC) presidents were acknowledged for their collaborative efforts. Each president received a cash prize of P500 along with gift packs.
