AgNor joins dialogue on bamboo, coconut dev't

NASIPIT, Agusan del Norte -- As acceptance to the challenge of improving life in the countryside, Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante of Agusan del Norte recently led an entourage of mayors, community leaders and representatives of the national line agencies to a dialogue on Agusan Bamboo and Coconut Development Enterprise in Marco Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City.

Among the emerging industry players is  Rizome Corporation, a US-based specialist in Engineered Bamboos, that highlighted the ever-expanding demand for processed Bamboos as wood substitutes in various construction industries here and abroad.  FICCO, on the other hand, is a highly respected cooperative nationwide. It revolutionized the dwindling coconut industry in Misamis Oriental via integrated processing which brought a phenomenal rise in the farm gate price of coconuts.

The twin development will soon become the centerpiece of the governor's economic agenda in 2024 and beyond! (Jack Alingasa, Jr., photo courtesy to RFAmante, PLGU-Agusan del Norte/PIA-Agusan del Norte)
