CTG member falls to Caraga cops

BUTUAN CITY – Police Brigadier General Kirby John B. Kraft, Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 director announced the apprehension of a 24-year-old Militia ng Bayan member, Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda 21C, Weakened Guerilla Front 21, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee on December 28 at around 12:52 p.m., in Brgy Taguibo, Butuan City.

Mark S. Navarro, a resident of Barangay Anticala, Butuan City, was arrested by the personnel of the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) and the 29th Infantry Battalion (IB), 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army (PA).

He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 4, Hall of Justice, Brgy. Libertad, Butuan City dated December 19, 2023, for murder under Criminal Case No. 2023-1300 with no bail bond recommended.

The suspect was tagged in the killing of a member of the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU), 29th IB, PA, assigned to the Mahayahay Patrol Base City on July 12, 2023, in Brgy. Antongalon, Butuan City. 

“I applaud the success of the joint PNP-AFP operation against the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG). This accomplishment proved that when government forces worked together in the aggressive fight against terrorism, the CTG would suffer another major setback,” Dir. Kraft said. (PNP-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
