Pamaskong Handog 2023 gives tribute to former rebels in Carmen town

CARMEN, Surigao Del Sur –Some former rebels or friends rescued (FRs) recently received food packs during the gift-giving spearheaded by the Lovers of Nature Foundation Inc. (LONFI), a non-government organization, and from the personnel of the 36th Infantry Battalion under the command of Lt. Colonel Vincent M Viray at the headquarters of the 36IB, Brgy Puyat, Carmen, Surigao del Sur.

Dubbed as Pamaskong Handog 2023, the program highlighted the distribution of food packs, rice, and groceries that benefited the 15 FRs and their families.

"This generosity was more than just the giving of material goods, but it brought an inspiring message of joy, acceptance and belongingness in the community of the friends rescued who chose reintegration and return to mainstream society and live peacefully with their families,"  said Captain Reyzander Ga, civil military operations chief of the 36IB.

"The parlor games during the Pamaskong Handog 2023 created an atmosphere of fun and laughter to all the participants," Capt. Ga also shared.

"Through the Pamaskong Handog 2023, LONFI and the 36IB were able to bring joy and hope to the friends rescued and spread the message of love and kindness during the holiday season," Capt. Ga added. (with a report from 36IB, PA/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
